Victoria Harbour - Simcoe Area |
|
The best of every world - waterfront cottage living; modern amenities that include hi-speed internet; privacy; yet close enough to civilization to enjoy all its conveniences. This is the world you step into at this great Victoria Harbour cottage.
In the summer, relax on the expansive decking facing the water, frolic with the kids in the shallow water or try your luck fishing the waters of the Bay. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching a breathtaking sunrise across the water. The backyard lawn extends to the waterfront - depending on the water level in the bay at the time of year, there may be a few feet of pebble/clay beach area.
In winter, spend a day snowmobiling (trails are just down the street!) or spend the day on the slopes at nearby Moonstone St. Louis Ski Resort. Then return to the cottage for hot chocolate in front of a crackling fire.
Wood flooring and finishing throughout the cottage dominate the personality of this retreat. The island kitchen is fully equipped for those looking to prepare those special holiday meals. A main floor bedroom for Mom and Dad and 2 second floor bedrooms make this cottage suitable for families of up to 8 people.
The cottage is fully serviced by the municipality, including town water and garbage pickup. Cable TV is available for those bad weather days, or for that game you just can't afford to miss.
As you are located just a few minutes from Historic Midland, there is no shortage of things to do should you decide on an outing. Nearby golfing and skiing; 30,000 island boat cruises; Wye Marshes Wildlife Centre; Sainte-Marie among the Hurons & the Martyr’s Shrine and more!

Waterfront
The water is very shallow for a significant distance into the bay (a hundred feet or so) and is quite safe for children in terms of depth. The bottom near the shore is a little soft under foot - the owner tells us they wade out to a sand bar to place their lawn chairs and watch the children play in the shallows. Boat mooring is not possible here due to the shallow nature of the water - there are a number of marinas close by, including one within walking distance (about 3 km).
