The Mountain House has been recently renovated and is an exciting new addition to Ontario’s vacation home rental market. It is a comfortable and well furnished 2000 square foot, six bedroom; three and half bath, year-round vacation home. It is located in the heart of the Georgian Triangle nestled between the shores of Georgian Bay and the heights of the Niagara Escarpment. The Mountain House is less than a two hour drive from downtown Toronto and most other major urban areas in Southern Ontario. It is easily accessible by a wide network of good highways making it an easy drive from all over Southern Ontario and the Northern United States. The Mountain House is light and bright and spotlessly clean. The main floor has an open design and has a large open space. The many windows allow spectacular views of the not too distant ski and snowboarding hills.
The Mountain House can comfortably accommodate multiple families or responsible groups of adults up to sixteen people. Four bedrooms in the Mountain House are located on the first floor below the main level. They are all comfortably furnished with queen beds; two of these bedrooms have three-piece en-suites. Two more bedrooms are located in the finished lower level and each of these is furnished with two sets of twin bunk beds.
The kitchen is large and well equipped with cooking utensils and excellent appliances including a microwave and dishwasher. The Mountain House is served by a clean and fresh supply of municipal water. The kitchen is only a few steps from the large dining area and living room. The living room is equipped with cable TV, a video and stereo system.
A walkout from the dining area provides easy access to a large south-west facing deck and an outside dining area that is complete with tables, chairs and a gas barbeque. This deck is the perfect place to spend time on a sunny winter afternoon after a morning of skiing or snow boarding.
The Mountain House has a long list of modern amenities including a large and spacious hot-tub located in the back-yard just a few steps away from the back door. A variety of table games have been provided for guests to use and there will be endless hours of fun and laughter taking place around them during your stay.
The Mountain House is a short walk away from the base of the Blue Mountain Resort, Ontario’s premiere four-season vacation destination and playground. The Blue Mountain Resort is known as the top ski and snowboard destination in the province featuring a vertical drop of 720 feet or 220 meters, with 34 trails and runs ranging from beginner slopes to double-black diamond runs. During the summer there are chair lifts that transport people to the top of Blue Mountain. Just imagine the breathtaking views of Georgian Bay and the surrounding country side from the top of Blue Mountain.
In sharp contrast, the sand and water of the Northwinds Beach on the southern shoreline of beautiful Georgian Bay is only a five minute drive away from the Mountain House. The water there is shallow, crystal clear and deepens gradually as you move away from shore. In the summer, during periods of bright sunshine, on days with a prevailing on-shore breeze, the water is pushed shoreward and warms to a comfortable temperature. At these times, it’s ideal for wading and swimming by the whole family. Windsurfers and Para-sailors rate this area as one of the finest locations in the province to enjoy their sport.
The Mountain House is well located for easy access to the ski and snowboarding hills in the winter but is truly a four season vacation and holiday get away destination. In the fall, the view from the Mountain House is still of the ski hills, but instead of being covered with snow, they are covered with large trees splashed with a full palette of reds and yellows. In the spring, a short drive along Highway 26 will find you surrounded by acres and acres of apple blossoms and the emerging green colours of spring on one side of the road and on the other, the unbelievable blue water of Georgian Bay. Summers spent in the Georgian Triangle can be enjoyed on the nearby beaches, exploring the wide variety of local activities or traveling another twenty minutes to the tourist hotspots of Wasaga Beach. There are excellent walking and biking trails located nearby. This area of the province has a variety of activities at anytime of year to keep everybody happy and entertained.
Consider the Mountain House and the Georgian Triangle as your next vacation destination. The Mountain House is being made available on a weekly basis during the late spring, summer and fall. Shorter stays of less than a week can sometimes be arranged. During the winter, the chalet is ideally being made available for a long term ski/snowboard seasonal rental usually from the middle of December to the last weekend in March but shorter stays might be arranged.
