Looking for a comfortable, quiet cottage set among tall trees with beaches close by? Want something comfortable but not too rustic? Need all this at a very reasonable price? Forest Edge scores three yesses.
The cottage is set on quiet Rue Jules Leger in the town of Lafontaine, which sits on the shore of Georgian Bay in Tiny Township. Trivia - did you know the townships of Tiny, Flos and Tay were named for the 3 dogs owned by Lady Sarah Maitland, wife of the Governor General of Upper Canada in the early 1800's?
The cottage is tucked neatly beside a large woods on a greenbelt, the perfect place for young explorers to enjoy some time with nature. A 2-minute car ride or a 10-minute walk will take you to one of the public beaches in the area, where you can enjoy an afternoon in the sand and waves. A parking pass is included with your stay, but the kids may prefer to take the bikes.
The cottage has recently changed hands, and the new owners are delighted to share their good fortune with you. The main level contains a large living room with satellite TV/DVD/VCR (basic satellite service). The kitchen is bright and cheery and the dining area is outfitted with a wood stove in case the mercury dips. There is a 3-piece bath on this floor as well as a laundry area, unusual to find in a cottage at this price! The master bedroom is set at the back, and the crickets will sing you to sleep on summer nights. A walk up the stairs reveals a surprising amount of space, with 3 more bedrooms and a 4-piece bath.
Outside, you should be able to find sun or shade at most times in the day. There is a deck where you may want to sit with a good paperback...maybe enjoying some quiet time while the rest of the family is at the beach.
With capacity to sleep up to 9 people, Forest Edge is a great choice for large or extended family groups.
