It is hard to believe that such a relaxing cottage could only be 90 minutes north of Toronto. Curran Cottage is a clean, 1200 square foot, three bedroom year-round retreat between highway 26 and Georgian Bay. For those looking to get away from it all, or looking to partake in the adventure that is the Collingwood/Wasaga area, it may well be just what you seek.
The floors on the first floor are refinished hardwood while the lower level has new laminate flooring. The cathedral ceilings, wide plank pine wood walls and tasteful and comfortable furnishings add to the country atmosphere.
The kitchen is well equipped and bright, alongside the cozy living room with its wood burning fireplace and leather couch and chairs provide such a welcome to visitors. There are two washrooms in the cottage, both of which are conveniently located close to the three spacious bedrooms. Downstairs, a recreation room with Satellite TV and an electric fireplace provides further comfort as well as access to a large deck that is mostly shaded throughout the day. These area make ideal retreats for those such as teens in your group who may enjoy a little space of their own. Just beyond the deck is a grassed area, which leads down to the shoreline. A second large deck spanning the front the cottage is an excellent place for visitors to relax and take in the gorgeous views of the deep blue waters of Georgian Bay and of course the breathtaking sunsets.
Regardless of the time of year, there is always plenty to do here. Of course, Blue Mountain and a host of other ski venues are very close nearby, for skiing and snowboarding. Imagine a day on the slopes followed by an evening watching an amazing sunset while you sit comfortably by the fire! In the summer, many of the same resorts now offer golf, mountain biking and hiking on those hills. There are nearby Provincial Parks, great for hiking all year. Summer theatre is available in the area, including the ever popular and always fun Collingwood Elvis Festival. A number of harbour towns along the Georgian Bay make for good visits, and Owen Sound not being far away means that a broad variety of restaurants, pubs, and shopping are all easily accessible as well. The Bruce Trail provides great hiking and natural beauty in the form of Blue Mountain and the Niagara Escarpment. The colours that decorate these areas in Autumn are magnificent. In the spring and fall, anglers may wish to try their luck right from shore - you may be surprised at what you reel in!
Whether you're looking to relax or have an energetic and adventurous holiday, Curran Cottage provides a comfortable stay in a great location.

-
"We have just enjoyed ourselves immensely in this relaxing setting. The cottage is fabulous - just what we need for our special visit. My sister came from Calgary, my daughter from Toronto, my mother from Berford for our much needed family retreat. We have made some special memories in this ideal setting. Sitting on the deck enjoying the view and privacy made this visit memorable as our mother enjoyed her visit with the family."
