If you are staying in Collingwood, chances are pretty good that your activity involves the Blue Mountains in some way shape or form. When you stay at Casa Montana, you won't lose track of those mountains - you can see them in all their glory right from the balcony of this wonderful southwestern style chalet.
Winter is what made the area famous, with several private and public ski resorts strung along the hills right up to Georgian Bay. The area offers execptional downhill AND cross country areas, and a vibrant après-ski life.
In recent years, summer time has begun to vie for more attention with golf courses, scenic caves and mountain biking moving to the forefront once the snow melts. Road cyclists will want to tackle Scenic Caves Road, a category-3 climb. Of course, with Georgian Bay on your doorstep, areas such as Northwinds Beach are always popular in warmer weather and Wasaga Beach is just 20-minutes away. A 2-minute drive or 8 minute walk takes you to the village at Blue Mountain filled with first-class restaurants, shopping and adventure for kids and teens including mountain coaster, rock-climbing, hummer tours, mountain dirt-bike riding, pond-fishing and lots more.
Casa Montana is well positioned to take advantage of all the area has to offer and it is a nice place to be if you just want to relax.
Set on 3 levels, the cottage offers sleeping for up to 12 people (maximum 8 adults) in 5 bedrooms. The lowest level has a bar/games room and two bedrooms, each with two double bunks, as well as a 3-piece bath. The middle floor has a foyer and 3 more bedrooms in addition to a wonderful 4-piece bath complete with separate shower and soaker tub.
The main level houses the kitchen, dining and living areas. The kitchen is recently renovated and is outfitted in top-notch manner to serve hungry skiers and swimmers alike. A dining table will sit large groups who can take advantage of the large windows to enjoy the mountain view on one side and trees on the other. The fireplace will be the focus of evening congregations as everyone swaps tales of bravado and adventure, enjoying a game or perhaps nursing their well-earned bumps and bruises with a glass of wine. A piano is there for the musician in your group for impromptu concerts and sing songs.
The owners of Casa Montana recognize that fun is often measured in quality, not quantity, and thus offer shorter stays in addition to full week rentals.
