Ready for rentals at any time in the year, this cottage boasts a very conveneient location, and plenty of attractions. The owners have worked hard to make this a choice cottage for guests looking for a getaway at any time of the year. Camperdown Cottage has three bedrooms, a modern kitchen, an open concept dining/living area with a wood burning stove, new furniture, and all the appliances (which have been upgraded to stainless steel) one might hope for. The lower level offers a 51 inch HD TV with full cable service, a DVD player and surround-sound, along with a fireplace, making staying in on an unfavourable day, whether its curled up in front of a warm fire or settling in for a movie, a comfortable and enjoyable time. The living area on the main floor provides access to a 300 square foot deck that has a barbecue, deck chairs, and lawn chairs, making viewing the area in all seasons a treat.
With a picturesque look and location close to everything you want in a vacation, Camperdown is also priced attractively. Trees and gardens protect the exterior of the cottage, which is a mere two minutes from the village of Thornbury. Depending on the thickness of the leaves at the time of year, it has a marvellous view of the Georgian Peaks Ski Resort and part of the Georgian Bay Golf Club. If you're thinking this might not follow the traditional idea of a cottage getaway, it is only 300 yards from a small sandy beach on Georgian Bay. The shore provides good access for swimming, though the beach ranges in texture from sandy to stoney, depending on the waves and storms in the area. A larger sand beach is located about 5 km down the road at Northwinds Beach. These are just the visible attractions. There are six golf courses in a 20 minute radius, a host of restaurants, and a number of day trip locations not far away. Also available year-round is the renowned Blue Mountain ski and tourist resort. If you're lucky enough to be here when they're happening, the Thornbury Horse Park is home for the Collingwood Horse Shoes, held in August, and of course the Collingwood Elvis Festival is always a hit. Suffice to say, there is no shortage of activities for the renters at this cottage!
