We’ve been looking for this one for a while, and it’s been worth the wait!
Beach Trees has everything you want in a traditional cottage – a rustic atmosphere yet clean and comfortable, removed from the big city hustle and bustle but close enough to drive to without any rest stops (we’ll forgive you if you stop for ice cream somewhere), plenty of boats with which the family can explore, a sunny deck overlooking the water, and sand, sand and more sand!
The waterfront of this cottage is one of our nicest. Soft, pure sand covers the entire area between the cottage and the lake, and the entry is shallow and sandy as well. Majestic trees give you the option of sitting in full sun, full shade, or pretty much any combination in the middle. An expansive deck with a generous selection of patio furnishings is the perfect spot to relax and keep an eye on the kids at the same time. There is a fire pit with seating for those evening campfires.
Farlain Lake is a hidden gem in Huronia. About 2-3 kilometres in length, it is partially surrounded by Awenda Provincial Park to the north and west, and is just a few minutes west of Penatanguishene and historic Midland. The lake is clean and generally calm, perfect for using the canoe, paddleboat or rowboat included with the cottage. If you want, you can easily wade out to deeper water for swimming as well as wading in the sandy shallows.
The cottage itself is very comfortable and relaxing. The open living/dining/kitchen area promotes togetherness and family time. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a variety of meals, and no doubt you’ll sometimes forego this option in favour of the barbecue on the deck. There is a TV with a DVD player and VCR for the occasional rainy day or movie nights. The master bedroom has a walkout to the deck so mom and dad can sneak out for a moonlight coffee.
We’re excited to have this cottage available. Why not make it a tradition with your family?
