Camden Cottage

Port Stanley, Lake Erie

We are always delighted to find quality accommodations in resort towns such as Port Stanley. So often, popular areas may offer spartan cottages with little ambience. Not so with Camden Cottage! This cottage is set apart from the crowds that summer brings to the beaches, yet walking distance to everything Port Stanley has to offer - and it does so with a quiet charm and elegance that you won't find just anywhere.

Camden Cottage is located in one of the most peaceful spots in Port Stanley, perched no a hilltop enjoying a view of the harbour through the trees. Camden takes advantage of its hillside location to enjoy walkouts on 2 levels, with outdoor seating on 3 sides in different environments. There is a cosy nook just outside the front of the cottage, a quiet place for bookworms to catch up on their holiday reading as well as a patio overlooking the ravine where one can enjoy shade and the view. Finally, there is a covered gazebo patio with a table and chairs for elegant relaxation and perhaps a board game or drinks while enjoying a breeze or two.

The cottage itself is actually two living units in on separate floors, so it may appeal to groups who would appreciate having additional privacy within their group. The main floor holds a living room with electric fireplace, a den with cable TV, a formal dining area and two bedrooms as well as a 4-piece bath and kitchen. The lower walkout level has two more bedrooms, a smaller dining area, a full kitchen and living room. There is plenty of space for family get-togethers as well as retreats for individuals who want some quiet time.

The beach is Port Stanley's main attraction, and you are less than a kilometre away from it, although you are well removed from the crowds. A short 10 minute walk or 2 minute car ride will have you enjoying the sun and surf in no time. Golfers will be happy to know that Kettle Creek Golf is just moments away, and the downtown area, with the Festival Theatre, shops and restaurants just down the street and across the bridge.

The Port is a great place for families to enjoy a week or two, and Camden Cottage will be reserved for a lucky few.
