This newly renovated and beautifully finished cottage together with it's guest cabin will delight guests looking for tranquil surroundings on a lovely lake. Just minutes from Young's Point, or Lakefield, there's no shortage of places to visit nearby.
I just fell in love with this cottage when I viewed it on a sunny May afternoon. The lake looked so inviting, and with a sandy, shallow walkout, it will appeal to families with small children. There was some landscaping still going on, so these outdoor photos can only get better!
As you park your cars in the ample area above the cottages, you'll see the neat log guest cabin to the right. This has bunk beds and a seating area, and a gorgeous balcony with chairs and table for quiet time overlooking the lake. Take the steps down from the parking area that lead onto the deck of the main cottage, and you find another deck with more patio furniture with a wonderful view of the garden and the lake.
Inside the cottage, the owners have made this relatively small space into the most delightful accommodation. Comfortably furnished, the cottage is attractively decorated and has lots of ambiance and appeal. The fresh colours give a light and airy feel to both the living and sleeping areas, with all three bedrooms appealingly decorated in blue and white. The well equipped kitchen overlooks the living and dining area so nobody gets left out.
With Young's Point and Burleigh Falls close by in one direction, and Lakefield in the other, there's a lot to visit. Peterborough with its zoo, Festival of Lights, Canoe Museum and Liftlock Cruise could occupy another day. Of course, that's if you ever want to leave this delightful spot.
Waterfront
There is grass to the waterfront where the water is shallow with soft sand underfoot. Climatic conditions and fluctuating levels in the Trent Severn system have contributed to more weed growth this year and towards the end of the dock there is vegetation in the water which some guests may find uncomfortable for swimming. There are public beaches nearby at Selwyn Conservation Area and in Lakefield. |
