Methuen Lake is located at the eastern edge of the Kawartha region - a peaceful area of cottage country. With plenty of lawned gardens, shallow waterfront and outstanding views, the cottage has something for everyone and the whole family is bound to enjoy this great location.
The glimpse of the water as you round the last corner of the pretty cottage road welcomes you to this delightful spot and you'll feel relaxed from the moment you get out of the car. There's plenty of lawn for games, enjoying a campfire or just sitting out watching the glorious sunsets and the decks offer sun or shade at any time of day. A few steps down to the waterfront and you're on the dock which extends out to water deep enough for jumping and diving. The shoreline is about a foot deep so youngsters have a nice space for wading too.
Inside, the cottage is comfortable and welcoming. The well equipped kitchen, dining area and living room stretch along the waterside with the three bedrooms across the rear. The layout is great for convivial gatherings with a small breakfast bar separating the kitchen from the dining table and double doors open into the lounge. A door opens from the dining area onto the waterside deck where there is plenty of seating, a checkers table and a barbecue.
This is a cottage for relaxation and the swimming and boating may mean you don't wish to take the drive out to the main road too often. When you do, the pretty town of Apsley is a 15 minute drive and The Gut conservation area is an attractive area to explore. Silent Lake
Provincial Parks offers plenty of hiking trails, sandy beaches and canoe rental if you want to head a bit further north on Hwy 28.
So, lots to explore; a great cottage to stay in; wonderful swimming; and a good amount of property to enjoy. What more can you ask for?
