This delightful cottage has been in the same family for 45 years and has recently been lovingly renovated and restored to create comfortable accommodation for up to 7 people. Chandos Lake is a well kept secret - a beautiful lake near the village of Apsley in the north Kawartha region.
Our favourite feature of this cottage is the screened sun room located to one end of the cottage deck. Furnished with table and chairs, it is a great spot for sunset watching or enjoying balmy evenings playing cards with family and friends. The firepit is another location for evenings out under the stars, roasting wieners or smores. Of course, the daytime will be spent on water activities; swimming, fishing or out on one of the boats included with this great cottage. There's a lot of lawn space for ball games
Inside the cottage, the orginal painted floors have been retained giving the cottage a beach house feel, while comfortable leather furniture and recliner chairs creates an ambient space in the living room. On cooler evenings the wood stove will add warmth and cosiness to this area. Three newly painted and decorated bedrooms are located off the living room
There's satellite TV and plenty of videos and DVDs for couch potatoes to enjoy when the weather is not as welcoming; and the cute dining room will be the venue for plenty of board and card games along with convivial family meals. The brand new and well-equipped kitchen will please even the most discerning cook.
Getting to this wonderful location is easy - under 3 hours from Torontoor less than 2 from Oshawa. Once here, there is plenty to see and do. Silent Lake Provincial Park is just 10 minutes drive. The attractive riverside town of Bancroft is nearby with its art galleries, craft shops and restaurants and the village of Apsley is close by for general groceries. But, if you simply want to chill out and enjoy, settle down on the deck and just take in the view.
