There’s lots of
privacy in this cottage that has wonderful views over
Stoney Lake. Situated in a secluded bay, there is no
power boat traffic to spoil the peace and quiet, so
you can just enjoy the feeling of retreat and relaxation.
The cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting
room with sliding doors to the spacious deck where you’ll
find patio furniture for relaxing and enjoying the views.
The three bedrooms are simply, but comfortably furnished
and the bathroom has all new fixtures. You’ll
enjoy evenings spent in the screened sunroom, if not
on the deck, or sitting in the Muskoka chairs on the
dock. A rowboat and canoe are included in this rental,
and an additional rowboat can be supplied if requested.
Outside the cottage, the waterfront is extensive and
there are a lot of lilies, so swimming is not the best.
However, the owner tells us there is a great natural
rock swimming platform, on an island just a 5- minute
paddle round the point, so the swimmers in the party
won’t be disappointed.
Stoney Lake is a large, and popular lake, in the beautiful
eastern Kawartha region. There are numerous islands
and delightfully secluded inlets and bays for exploring
in the canoe or rowboat. Nearby Petroglyphs Provincial
Park has hiking trails as well as the renowned aboriginal
rock paintings on ‘The rock that teach’.
Visit Lakefield, Burleigh Falls and Buckhorn on a day
out around the lake.
