What really makes this cottage unique is its waterfront with ‘L’ shaped permanent marina and enormous outdoor, purpose built, charcoal BBQ. Hours of fun will be spent at the waters edge sharing hot dogs and burgers while watching boats go by on the beautiful Balsam Lake.
Balsam Lake is well renowned for its clear waters due to it being spring fed and sitting at the highest point on the Trent-Severn canal system. The 200ft of shore line at this cottage is typical of the area with natural rock that stretches out for 5 ft then becomes firm sand. Great for swimming, fishing or just for scenery watching and relaxing, this spot is Ideal for kids and adults alike and will undoubtedly be enjoyed by all.
The cottage is solid cedar log construction with a vaulted ceiling and 3 skylights as well as a completely renovated bathroom. The four bedrooms are generous in size and are cheerfully decorated. A massive floor to ceiling fireplace provides the living room's focal point.
The well equipped kitchen is long and narrow with the business side (stove, fridge, microwave etc) at one end, while a countertop area gives a lot of room for meal preparation. At the other end a dining table will seat 6 comfortably for meals or card games, and for curling up . The living room has a comfortable couch and recliner for curling up and relaxing with a good book, or to watch a movie. All the bedrooms have been newly decorated and beds have new mattresses so you can be sure to get a good night's sleep.
The (unfinished) basement area is great for the kids to enjoy a game of pool.
Outside there's a large deck with patio furniture that is surrounded by perennial gardens making an attractive spot for some afternoon sunbathing or getting to that book you've been dying to read. Let Dad fire up the custom barbecue for some serious grilling, take a cool drink down to the waterfront and watch the kids enjoying the water before you settle down to an evening of family games or a campfire.
