We love this hideaway as it's a delightful
cottage on a lovely lake. Sure to be a winner with adults
and children alike with plenty to do both on and off
the water.
The 4 kilometre drive down a winding cottage track gives
a clue that you ‘ll find something special at
the end. And this delightful cottage doesn't disappoint.
Pretty lawned gardens on different levels lead to the
dock and waterfont with south west exposure on a quiet
part of Salerno Lake. The crystal clear waterfront offers
a shallow, sandy section for younger children whilst
the better swimmers will enjoy good depth off the dock.
Enjoy the pedal boat and canoes or moor your own boat at the dock. The lake is of a good size for tubing and water-skiing, so bring along your toys. For the water watchers there’s a great deck with plenty of outdoor furniture, whilst activity on land can take place over the volley ball net. Let’s not forget the firepit for obligatory marshmallow roasting and star gazing.
Inside you’ll find a light, airy and open plan kitchen with a breakfast bar, dining and living area with plenty of pine accents. Together with huge windows and sliding doors to the deck, the whole effect is of a well designed and attractively furnished living space. Satellite TV and a wood burning stove provide the warmth and entertainment for cooler or less clement weather.
Leading from the living room is a hallway with four bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and doors to the deck, the others each having a double bunk bed. A bathroom with shower completes this quality accommodation.
When not enjoying the water and outdoor fun that come as standard with this cottage, why not take a drive to Minden for a game of golf or a picnic at the Riverside Park not forgetting to buy an ice cream at the famous Kawartha Dairy on Hwy 35. Or an easy 40 minute drive will bring you to the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve where you can see their resident wolf pack, rent bicycles or hike the trails.
