This cottage is tucked away from it all on the beautiful and quiet Little Glamour Lake, which lies a few kilometers to the south east of Haliburton. After a stunning drive through the winding wooded roads of Haliburton County you arrive at this idyllic location. The first feature you will notice is the unique tree house located at the front of the property. Closed in and with bunk beds inside, this well built kids haven will be a paradise for the kids to hideaway for the whole week.
The cottage has great character. Even though it has been renovated it still retains some of that traditional cottage charm. With new wood floors and ceilings, as well as new furniture and electronics the warm ambiance is felt as soon as you walk in the front door. The airtight gas fireplace also adds to the very tastefully decorated living room. The kitchen has also been fully renovated with new counters and cupboards and will provide ample space for preparing meals to be enjoyed in the cottage or down by the waterfront. The 3 bedrooms all have queen beds with newer mattresses but the other unique bedroom is the second screened in sunroom that has 2 twin beds. This room would again be great for the kids. Having a proper bed while having the experience of sleeping outdoors in the country is something everyone should have the opportunity to do.
The waterfront shoreline is a little rocky but once into the water the bottom is a firm sandy/pebble mix with no weeds. Beautiful for swimming and with little boat traffic the lake is tranquil and restful. There is also a dock for deeper water entry and docking the canoe and pedal boat that are provided with the cottage.
Little Glamour Lake is a relatively unknown gem in the Haliburton Highlands, offering amazing boating and canoeing fun, as well as having some of the clearest and cleanest water in the area. |
