Manor Road is a little spur that juts into Sturgeon Lake creating an 'island' laneway with cottages on either side. Some face east onto the lake, while those on the west facing side benefit from great sunset views into a quiet bay. These two neat cottages with their expanse of lawn, face the inlet. Rent one or the other, or both for a great family experience.
The two cottages are side by side and can be rented together for a great rate, or the cedar or white cottage can be rented separately.
The White Cottage is the smaller of the two and has been fully renovated this year. The two bedrooms are comfortably furnished with two double beds in one and a queen in the other, and the bathroom and kitchen are both modernised with newer facilities and appliances. The living room has an electric fireplace and TV to one end and a dining table with waterfront view to the other. A small deck and patio furniture and a barbecue completes this neat cottage.
The Cedar Cottage is a traditional property with three bedrooms and a bathroom along the rear and an open plan kitchen, living and dining area across the waterside elevation, with a sliding door onto the deck. The wrap around deck is a great feature of this property along with the waterfront windows giving great views of the water. The cottage is neat and comfortable and suitable for families or friends to spend some quality time together.
The waterfront is not suitable for swimming as there is substantial weed growth, however there is a small public beach area about .5 kilometre away on the main lake. Although there are neighbouring cottages to either side, there is still a feel of privacy from the decks. The large expanse of lawns to front and back offers a great space for ball games and children's play, and there's a selection of watercraft to enjoy a paddle out into the main lake, or simply to fish in the inlet. The local resort offer fishing boat rentals.
Close by are the City of Lindsay and the picturesque towns of Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon. If you bring your own boat or rent one from a local marina it's only a 20 minute boat ride to town. That makes for a really neat outing.
