If you are looking for a great cottage rental near Bancroft, then tranquil Gunter Lake may be just the right spot for you. Fabulous views from the deck and off the shoreline; great fishing, and a swim platform for water fun make this a super location for a family holiday.
This newer cottage is bright and appealing with light, spacious rooms and terrific views. The kitchen and dining area overlook the lake and as the windows take up the length of this room, there is a lot of lake to see. The kitchen is well eqiupped and has a good range of small appliances. A door from the living/ding area leads onto the wrap-around deck where you'll find the BBQ, a patio table and chairs for outdoor dining, and additional seating.
There are three bedrooms on the main floor, all of which are comfortably furnished and attractively decorated. A four piece bathroom (bath with shower over) completes the main level accommodation
Stairs lead down to the lower level where there is a fourth bedroom and a spacious family room with plenty of comfortable seating and a TV area. This is a great area for playing games and cards.
The natural garden area on the lakeside has a slope leading down to the water and the waterside dock. This is where you'll find the canoe and paddleboat. There is a soft bottom to the lake and some weed around the dock area, but once out on the swim raft, diving, jumping and swimming will be the order of the day. Or just escape out there with a book and a cold drink and soak up the sun.
The cottage faces east so gets morning sun on the deck and dock. Toward the end of the day, the lawned area at the rear of the cottage catches the afternoon rays and is where the fire pit is for gathering under the setting sun roasting a few smores.
This is a great area for exploring. Bancroft is just
35 minutes to the north for supermarkets, craft shops
and restaurants; or take a meandering country road to
Egan Chute Provincial Park and picnic by the falls.
To the west is Coe Hill, Chandos Lake and a little further
on to Silent Lake Provincial Park. We felt that most
time would be spent at the cottage though – swimming,
fishing and just having fun! |
