At less than 2 hours from Toronto this is a great location for a vacation at any time of the year and for water lovers it's ideal, since you can't get much closer to the water than this cottage. Close to the village of Coboconk in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes region, Four Mile Lake is a mecca for boaters, fishermen and swimmers.
Evergreen Cove is tucked into the side of a hill, and is reached by a set of stairs from the car parking area above. Perched above the water, there are spectacular views from every lakeside window, and the spacious deck will be home to many hours of sunbathing and relaxation. Evenings can be spent around the deck based firepit, or relaxed in the screened-in sunroom.
The upper level of the property is home to a light-filled living and dining area with a nice sized kitchen & breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped for catering to up to 7 people. There is a new L-shaped couch for comfortably watching TV or enjoying the wood stove on a cool evening. The owners have a small child so there's some good safety features such as the spring latched gate leading to the lower floor where there are three bedrooms and a newly renovated bathroom. The sunroom is accessed from a door at the foot of the stairs, and also from the master bedroom.
There's a small guest cabin at the top of the steps with bunk beds - ideal for teens who would like their own space.
The spacious deck has patio furniture and a 'Soft Tub' for soaking under the stars, and steps down to the waterfront. Take a chair out to the end of the dock and soak up the sun or wade into the warm, shallow water to deeper water further out for swimming. The shoreline has small stones so we recommend water shoes.
