There's lots of room in this lovely cottage and a great waterfront outlook. This delightful cottage faces southwest over Mississauga Lake in the north Kawartha region.
On a 5-lake chain that includes Mississagua, Gold, Beaver, Catachoma, and McGuinnis Lakes there's miles of boating and fishing. You will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy all sorts of water activity, or just sit on one of the decks, relax and take in the view. And if all you want to do is relax, enjoy a spot of sunbathing, and then gaze out over another wonderful sunset, there is a new 1200 sq ft floating dock in additional to three decks to choose from.
On arriving at the cottage it is clear this is something special. You’ll catch glimpses of sparkling water as you follow the steps down to the door, and across the back deck. Once inside you’re greeted by the huge ‘A’ shaped windows overlooking the lake as you enter the kitchen. Well equipped with everything for the designated cook including a brand new stove and fridge, you won’t be missing much here. The living area with comfortable leather seating, and the dining area alongside have fabulous views and a step outside brings you to the first deck, where you’ll undoubtedly spend much of your time, catching the sun or sharing convivial evenings with family and friends. This is one of three deck areas, so there’s no shortage of room to spread out.
There’s a small bedroom with a double bed on the main floor, as well as the washroom. The spiral staircase leads you up to the master bedroom with queen bed whilst a further set of stairs downwards will find you in a family/recreation room. Here there is more seating; the TV and entertainment area; and a piano. Oh, and there’s another bedroom off here with two sets of bunk beds, another TV and games system, so the kids will be really happy.
There is no beach as such, but a shallow sandy bottomed pool surrounded by rocks, is good for younger children, whilst the older ones will enjoy swimming from the new 1200 sq ft dock. The rental fee includes use of a canoe, and water trampoline, and there are boat rental facilities located nearby.
There is a small store at Flynn’s Turn 15 minutes south and 30 minutes brings you into Bobcaygeon one of the new “Hot Spots” in Ontario with numerous spots for fine dining, the renowned “Bigleys Shoe Store” two grocery stores , the LCBO and Beer Store. If you are here in the summer, don’t miss out on the Peterborough Festival of Lights – a great evening out.
