This cottage is an absolute delight from the moment you enter the driveway and realise you've arrived at a very special place. Pristinely presented from the front lawns to the detailed interior, we know our guests are going to love this beautiful cottage.
Little Marble Lake is a small body of water with three separate bays that you can explore in the canoe or paddleboat. There is a portage into Mazinaw Lake; alternatively you can rent a boat from the marina and explore the beautiful area around Bon Echo Provincial Park, or rent a slip for your own boat. Whichever you choose, there is so much to do in the immediate area; maybe all you wish to do is swim in the clear water right from the shoreline at the cottage. Or take out the paddleboat...or sit on the deck or the dock.....while the kids play in the sand. What more can you ask for?
The interior of the cottage has been decorated to reflect the best in cottage style. Lots of wood and cottagey accents give it a traditional look but with all the comforts of home. The owners clearly have a lot of pride in their piece of paradise and it shows! The well- equipped kitchen has every small appliance you can think of as well as a dishwasher, large fridge and plenty of dishes, pots and pans for cooking up a storm. The pine dining table seats 8 comfortably and to the other side is a well furnished seating area with a flat screen tv, with a DVD home theater system complete with a cradle for iPod and iPhone.
The main floor has three bedrooms and a large bathroom with a double shower. The master has a king size bed and a walkout to the deck.
Stairs lead to the lower level and plenty more accommodation. A large family room has a really comfortable sectional sofa with two recliners. There's a TV with satellite, DVD and video, and a telescope for checking out the amazing night sky totally unpolluted by city lights. Another bedroom, a bathroom with a tub and shower over, and the laundry room complete the accommodation on this level, which has a walkout to the waterfront area.
Little Marble Lake is off Highway 41, in the heart of the Land o'Lakes region. A quiet and tranquil area, it is easily accessible from Ottawa as well as being within a three- hour drive of Toronto. Day trips to Kingston and the Thousand Islands, Prince Edward County, and the Perth/Smiths Falls region are a great option if you ever get tired of this wonderful cottage. We're not sure this will happen! |
