There are many features of this superb property offering that 'WOW' factor we are always searching for. Fabulous views, charm and ambiance, opportunities to visit Montreal, Ottawa and the US that makes a great base for a touring vacation. We love it! And of course, the 40ft indoor swimming pool and 10 person hot tub is the most amazing feature that we know our guests will love too.
Although this cottage is not on a waterfront location, we decided there was too much to appeal to vacationers to let it go! Since we rarely take on properties that are not on water, a cottage has to be pretty spectacular to be included and we had no doubt about this one.
The cottage is located just 15 minutes from Cornwall, with easy access to Hwy 401. Days trips from here can include Lake Placid in the US at just under 2 hours; Montreal - 45 minutes, and Ottawa - just over an hour. The crossover into Quebec is only minutes away so restaurants and cafes are in abundance close-by, not to mention bakeries and pastry shops..mmmmm! The views from the rear of the property, which is several acres, are of the Adirondack mountains silhouetted in the far distance.
The house itself is deceiving as it looks like a standard home as you turn into the driveway. It's as you approach the cottage that you get the big surprise as it extends far back onto the property. Of course, that is to accommodate the swimming pool which is larger than I have seen in many good quality hotels.This is luxury!
At the far end of the pool room is a wood burning stove that is used to keep the pool warm, with a seating area to take morning coffee and overlook the expanse of lawned garden and woodland. In winter, the toboggan run will attract all family members who want to take that thrill down the hill, before a few lazy lengths of the pool, or a relax in the hot tub.
The den/office has hi-speed internet, fax machine and printer. Just bring your laptop and hook up. The family room on the lower floor has comfortable seating and a wood burning stove to enjoy the satellite TV with video and DVD for your viewing enjoyment. On the main floor, more comfortable living space has plenty of sofas for whiling away time reading or playing games. Dining is well taken care of too,with a good sized and well equipped kitchen, and a large dining area.
The well furnished cottage will easily accommodate two families with five bedrooms and four bathrooms on two floors, so each family can have a good amount of privacy.
