Just taking a look at the white Muskoka chairs and the blues of the sea and sky, conjures up images of lazy days on the beach enjoying the sun and endless views of water. A place for total relaxation!
Only 1 hour and 20 minutes east of Toronto (125 km), this quiet and relaxing lakefront cottage, on an acre lot with 100' of private beach, overlooks picturesque Popham Bay with its warm, shallow waters and natural pebbled shoreline with sand beach at low tide. A ten minute walk along the shore to the famous sandy beaches of Presquile Provincial Park and nestled deep within the fabled Apple Route, this cottage is located within the Town of Brighton, Ontario.
The interior is light and airy with large windows giving spectacular views of the lake across the expanse of lawn. The living, dining and kitchen area take up the front of the cottage with the three attractive bedrooms and bathroom at the back. Sliding doors open onto the deck where there is a picnic table and muskoka chairs. Then, across the lawn is the beach with pebbles giving way to soft sand and shallow water.
This is one of the Great Lakes so expect the water to be unpredictable at times with occasional stormy weather offering some of natures great visuals! On occasion during the summer, algae may form on the waterfront making it less desirable for swimming. If this occurs, it is a short walk along the shore to the sand beaches of Presquile Provincial Park which are manicured, and cleared daily by the Park staff.
This is a terrific location for being as active or relaxed as you want. With plenty to see and do in the area - Presquile Provincial Park within walking distance, and famed Sandbanks a half hour drive - as well as the picturesque towns of Cobourg and Port Hope close by, you won't be short of things to do.
