The approach to the cottage is via a gated road giving an indication of the privacy you’ll find when you arrive, and you won’t be disappointed when you get the first glimpse of the log cottage from the driveway. Nestled in amongst trees and landscaped gardens, the cottage and ‘tea house’ are set back from the lake and have a fenced area to the rear of the cottage so your pets are free to run. The lawn to the waterside is pleasantly shaded and leads to the waterfront via natural paths. Once there you’ll find a shallow entry with sandy bottom with some rocks, suitable for children. The depth at the end of the dock is sufficient for jumping and diving.
Inside, the log cabin is a delightful open plan space with a spacious kitchen and separate food preparation area; a dining area and a comfortable lounge with satellite TV and a pellet stove for cooler evenings. Wooden stairs lead up to three bedrooms, each with a queen bed. A four piece bathroom has a tub with shower over. Doors from the lounge area lead to an enclosed deck which is safe for children to play without risk of them straying from the area.
A walkway leads from the entrance of the cottage to the unique Chinese themed and screened ‘tea room’. Perfect for taking morning coffee or aperitifs before a barbecue dinner,
The cottage is located in a quiet bay on Big Clear Lake and there is plenty of water to explore in the rowboat or canoe. This is a great spot for walking your dog or hiking out to enjoy the countryside and ATV enthusiasts will find plenty of local trails to explore. Further afield is Sharbot Lake and easy day trips to Perth, Kingston, the attractive town of Westport and Frontenac Provincial Park.
