This delightful property is bright and airy with wonderful views over Kennebec Lake. Sitting above the lake the two-tier deck captures the breeze off the water whether enjoying a morning coffee or an evening barbecue and the steps down to the water bring you to the long dock and sandy beach for fun in the water. Blue Heron Ridge offers a contemporary cottage atmosphere set amongst magnificent natural scenery. Situated in the picturesque Land O’Lakes region on the southern-most tip of the Canadian Shield, this cottage is nestled between towering pines and sits above the shimmering shore of beautiful Lake Kennebec. The lake offers 12 miles of excellent swimming, fishing and boating as well as amazing views of rock formations and stunning sunsets. The owners purchased the adjoining heavily-treed lot to ensure maximum privacy and the rocky landscape provides for some of the most beautiful scenery in cottage country.
Kennebec Lake is easily accessible from both Ottawa and Toronto making this a great place to meet up with friends and family. It’s a long lake which is great for boating and a pedal boat, rowboat and canoe are included in the rental rate. The sandy beach area is good for small children and there is a small area for wading. Further out, there are rocky sections with water lilies and underwater weeds that would make wading out into deeper water uncomfortable, however the swim platform is easily accessible with one of the boats, so swimmers are able to enjoy clear and deep water with little effort. A public boat launch is 3 minutes away.
The cottage sits above the lake and the exterior is left mostly natural. There’s plenty of seating on the decks with shade from umbrellas and chairs by the water as well, so moms can keep an eye on the youngsters as they play in the sand. The northerly exposure offers both sunrise and sunset views off the dock and there are firepits for those evenings under the stars.
This cottage was custom-built in 2006 and was constructed to make the most of the spectacular lake views with large windows, including a palladium window and cathedral ceiling in the great room, and two separate sliding door walkouts onto decks facing the lake.. The waterside of the cottage is open plan with a large and fully equipped kitchen, a tall-chair dining table, with steps down to the comfortable living area where you’ll find satellite TV and a propane fireplace for colder evenings. Stairs lead from the living room up to a loft bedroom.
Three more bedrooms are on the main floor with two off the living room and the den/4th bedroom is off the hallway. A four piece bathroom completes the accommodation in this light and spacious property.
This is a perfect location for a peaceful vacation with a good amount of water activity for the children and a relaxing environment for adults. There’s boat rental available on the lake from the nearby resort so fishing enthusiasts can enjoy time out on the water too. There’s something to appeal to everyone at Blue Heron Ridge.

Out and About
Nearest General Store: Sharbot Lake - 15 Minutes
Nearest Hospital: Perth - 40 minutes
Distance from Toronto: 261km (3hour)
Distance from Ottawa: 144km (1h 35m)
Distance from Montreal: 341km (4h 15m)
Waterfront: North exposure
There is a small sandy beach area but within 5 - 6 feet the lake bottom becomes weedy so swimming is not good at this spot. The water is several feet deep at the end of the dock but there is a rocky section making it slippery underfoot – we recommend water shoes. A swim platform located further out is fine for swimming in deeper and clear water.
